HD Alignment Technician
The primary role for this position is to perform heavy duty alignments on vehicles that are 3/4 ton and up and support all levels of mechanical service to our customers. The HD Alignment Tech provides efficient and comprehensive service that meets all of our quality and safety requirements and works as part of a team to present a positive experience for our customers. All work provided must follow company policies, procedures, and industry best practices and no employee should attempt to do any work for which they have not been trained.
Essential Functions
> Perform heavy duty alignments on vehicles that are ¾ ton and up.
> Experience with brakes, shocks, airbags, and kingpins.
> Prepare service estimates for the repair of vehicles and communicate any service needed.
> Mechanical service and repair as indicated and in accordance with shop requirements.
> Test drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
> Conduct brief overall vehicle inspection to identify obvious safety or mechanical issues.
> Communicate any additional service needs encountered along with the time and cost scope to complete.
> Execute repairs and maintenance to meet safety regulations and manufacturer’s specifications.
> Make yourself available for and complete all required and additional training offered by the Company.
> Understand and follow state and federal regulations applicable to the industry.
> Work as a team to provide efficient and comprehensive service.
> Maintain a clean and safe work environment with organized areas and regular cleanup.
> Stock and assist with physical inventory.
> Maintain tools and equipment in efficient operating condition.
> Attend meetings held by Store Service Manager.
> Process all necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
> Observe all rules and procedures as trained and in accordance with Company policy.

Knowledge and Skills
To perform the essential functions of this position successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following:
> Mechanical/troubleshooting skills and ability to operate diagnostic equipment.
> Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications.
> Familiarity with all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance.
> Experience with multi-point inspections and documentation.
Education and Work Experience
Mechanical training and experience with tools and practices in a shop environment is required. Preference is given for specific training and years of experience.
Work Environment
This position requires frequent pushing/lifting of 20 pounds or more and occasional lifting in excess of 80 pounds, as well as stooping, standing, and bending. This is a shop environment with varying temperatures and exposure to grease and engine fluids. Safety shoes are required but provided through a company cost sharing program.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
