Summary:
Supervises, coordinates and performs the maintenance and repair of Ford F-150s, Super Duties, Freightliner M2 Bucket and Digger Trucks, Trailers and other various equipment used in the electric utility industry.
Buckets and Diggers are Altec and Terex
Powertrains include the Ford 5.0 and 3.5 EcoBoost, Ford 6.7 Power stroke, Cummins ISB 6.7, Cummins ISL 9, Allison Transmissions and many more.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 90 days of start date, training costs will be covered.
- Responsible for performing proper maintenance and repair of our new cutting-edge fleet of heavy-duty trucks, specialized utility equipment and pickups and trailers.
- Possess writing and typing skills to properly document repairs and inspections performed.
- Use welding and cutting equipment to make repairs or fabricate special parts and customization of equipment.
- Road test, inspect and troubleshoot heavy duty trucks and equipment to assess condition and diagnose repairs.
- Must possess a working knowledge of automatic and manual transmissions, differentials, power-take-off drives, clutches and related drive train components.
- Must possess a working knowledge of hydraulic systems and components to include pumps, cylinders, motors, control valves.
- Adjust, disassemble, repair or rebuild drum and disc braking systems, valves, master cylinders and pneumatic or other hydraulic controls.
- Field repairs and maintenance will be necessary when equipment is on-site.
- Troubleshoot, adjust, replace, repair and rewire electrical systems and components, such as ignitions, signals, lights and electrical controls, including computer-controlled components.
- Order parts, supplies and tools from designated vendors.
- Work in conjunction with other shop and jobsite personnel under the direction of shop supervisor.
- Willing to travel as needed, and work holidays and weekends and storm events as needed.
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs. and possess own tools.
- Work 40+ hours per week.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises 1 employee in the Mechanic Shop. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
