The Role
The Identifix - Direct Help Technician must be highly skilled diagnostician. They must have a strong diagnostic skill set with a specific manufacturer or multiple manufacturers and develops skills with other manufacturers accordingly. They should consistently execute 20 daily transactions, (combination of calls and archives) and be capable of handling up to 3 calls per hour after training time and experience is met and decided by the Carline manager. Must be able to generate a 40% confirmed fix rate of new content. Evaluations and recommendations on performance occur quarterly.
What You’ll Do:
- 30 WPM typing skills, Competent usage of Office software products (Excel, Word ETC.)
- Effectively can use a variety of communication resources to reach customers (Phone, Email, Video and Chat.)
- Strong time management skills and the ability to change diagnostic paths or help the customer to stay focused on the current one is critical.
- Navigates and efficiently uses Automotive factory website software platforms and adapts to new ones, as necessary.
- Speaks professionally and articulately with technicians/customers. Develops diagnostic strategies that seek to fix the car quickly, accurately, and efficiently. Document calls and repairs in a prompt and clear legible manner, so that any other technician can step in and take over the call seamlessly. Captures and documents critical information needed for archiving the calls.
- Readily accepts feedback on job performance and practices a constant training mindset.
- Must be able to operate and explain operation or use of all popular aftermarket scan tools, also have knowledge and skills with the manufacturer specific scan tools consistent with their primary manufacturers experience.
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of Lab-scope operation and waveform identification. Training on the Pico Scope will be available as needed to develop this skill.
- Must use technology to quickly reach out for team assistance when a diagnostic solution is not readily available or for new ideas to effectively assist customers.
- Authors a variety of archives/diagnostic procedures in a manner that is consistent with company quality and quantity standards.
What You’ll Bring:
- 2-year automotive degree, or experience equivalent.
- ASE master certification. Must have or be able to obtain within 6 months of initial hire date.
- 10 years automotive experience in a professional facility.
- Must have credentials of factory training or certifications.

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
