SUMMARY
As a Lead Vehicle Integration Technician, you will have a pivotal role in the production of the Launch Vehicles and their major sub-assemblies. On a daily basis, you will take the production schedule and make it a reality, directing up to ten Integration Technicians and coordinating with Engineering to ensure that a quality product is produced in an efficient manner. Operating as a process subject matter expert, you will leverage you experience to train the next generation of technicians while also working with engineering to streamline and simply the workflow. This role is located at our manufacturing and test site in Briggs, TX, north of Cedar Park.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for productivity and efficiency of technician team; assigning and executing operations in support of Launch Vehicles and Spacecraft Integration, as prescribed by Engineering.
- Communicates with engineering and management to plan and execute both scheduled and unscheduled production activities.
- Provides primary mentorship, professional development and technical training of Integration Technicians.
- Fosters creativity and engages continuous improvement process for team and work center development.
- Continuously audits work center operations to ensure a safe, quality and efficient work environment is maintained.
- Promote a collaborative and positive work environment between employees and other Firefly teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Proven experience leading a team of technicians in a manufacturing environment.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with basic hand tools, precision measuring equipment and fabrication tooling
- Critical thinker with strong decision-making abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Proven time management skills
- Ability to thrive in a face paced environment.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
- Willing to travel up to 40%
- Able to read and comprehend technical drawings
Desired
- A&P License
- Experience with ERP systems, Confluence and Jira
- Knowledge of lean and agile manufacturing methodologies
- Experience with CAD software (Siemens NX preferred)
- Familiarity with AS9100
- Proven experience rigging and leading overhead lift operations of critical hardware
