Position: Mechanic (Part-Time, On-Call)
Pay Rate: $40 per hour

Carshares is a small car rental company managing a fleet of 5-12 year old vehicles, ranging from ultra economy to exotics.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced mechanic to work with us on a part-time, on-call basis. The ideal candidate is currently employed as a part-time or full-time mechanic but is available for additional work as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all levels of vehicle diagnosis and repairs
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on a variety of vehicles
- Carry out maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake changes, as well as more complicated tasks including transmission and engine repairs or swaps.
- Travel as needed to conduct pre-purchase inspections (PPIs) on vehicles we are considering adding to our fleet
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic or similar role
- Ability to perform a wide range of repairs, from basic maintenance to complex engine work
- Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and components
- Familiarity with automotive service procedures and best practices
- Ability to work independently
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed
- Certification in Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is a plus

- Our garage is located in West Haven, Connecticut. We will build out our shop based on your advice and requirements.

Expected hours: 4 – 16 per week
