The Field Service Technician I is responsible for the delivery of high-quality customer service, performing preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of Hach devices located at our customer sites. The customer base for this role is anticipated to be a combination of municipal (i.e., drinking and wastewater treatment facilities) and industrial (i.e., power plants and food and beverage plants).
This position is part of the North America Field Service Team located in Northern California and will be remote.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
- Perform preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of instrumentation using established company standard work.
- Promotes a positive customer experience and serves as on-site customer contact for technical and service-related problems.
- Submits prompt, accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure.
- Follows safe work practices according to company policy.
- Executes administrative activities in support of service visits.
- 50-75% travel within a 2-hour radius of San Francisco, CA. You can expect to have up to on average 1-3 nights away each week with company-paid accommodations and meals.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- HS Diploma or equivalent required; Associate/Technical degree preferred, or combination of education and experience.
- Mechanical aptitude is a must - experience with preventative maintenance and technical diagnostics/repair helpful, but not required.
- 2 or more years of field service experience and/or customer facing roles preferred.

The salary range for this role is $29 - $31 per hour. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
