The Rental Assistance Coordinator is an essential part of the Housing Catalyst Team. This pivotal role is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the Federal Housing Choice Voucher Program. This position acts as the Single Point of Contact for their program participants which requires them to understand the nuances between different regulations, internal processes and have the ability to analyze data to determine eligibility for successful program administration.

Job Duties:
- Administer Housing Catalyst waitlist to comply with Federal, State and Housing Catalyst requirements for intake process including reviewing preferences, referrals and pre-applications.
- Prepare; send and received packets; collecting documentation; process to determine eligibility.
- Perform complex analysis of resident and applicant required information to verify Federal Housing Choice Voucher Program eligibility.
- Verify the required income, medical, and other data to calculate housing subsidy.
- Interpret and explain rules and regulations governing eligibility, program requirements, and rights to applicants, residents, property owners, and property managers.
- Conduct annual recertification for housing assistance residents.
- Ensure Lease, Community Policy, and Addendums are current and legal.
- Organize work priorities and follow established policies and procedures.
- Exchange information, ask questions, check for understanding in English or Spanish.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards, act with an appropriate sense of urgency and accountability, correctly handle confidential information, and maintain professional relations and boundaries with those contacted during work.
- Obtain lease and contract from the landlord or property contact; negotiate with landlord as needed.
- Maintain organized and complete files for efficient information retrieval and compliance audits.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office, Outlook, and computer systems.
- Promote teamwork and a positive work environment.
- Demonstrate professional customer service, good listening, and conflict resolution skills.
- Prepare HUD reports, statistical, or finance budget data as requested for audits.
- Participate in training and educational opportunities for ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- Housing Choice Voucher Certificate or ability to obtain within six months of hire date.
- Knowledge of HUD, LIHTC, and affordable housing benefit programs.
- College university graduate.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Yardi.
- Ability to analyze and verify data from multiple sources.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Candidates with missing qualifications may be hired in training range
Residency Requirement: Applicants must be residents of Larimer or Weld County at the time of hire, or be willing to establish residency within six months from the date of hire.
Compensation
Initial Hiring Range: $28.78 -$33.39
Expected Salary Range: $28.78 - $35.76
Training Range for Candidates with Unfulfilled Qualifications: $26.30 - $28.66

Reduced Work Schedule Pilot: In 2023, Housing Catalyst launched a pilot program introducing reduced work schedules for participating employees, providing eight hours of paid time off per pay period. The initiative aims to foster employee engagement and assess the impact of increased flexibility on productivity. Eligibility is open to all 40-hour employees in good standing. Employees are expected to actively contribute to productivity improvements.
