The Automotive Mobility Technician is responsible for installing adaptive equipment, modifying OEM vehicles and systems, and performing maintenance and repairs to these modifications and equipment. In addition, the ability to perform general service and basic repairs on the vehicle chassis.
Essential Functions:
- Install Automotive Mobility Equipment. (Lifts, Driving Systems, Seating, Securement, etc.)
- Modify OEM systems and Adaptive Equipment.
- Repair and Maintain Adaptive Equipment.
- Basic fabrication and welding ability preferred.
- Understanding of basic automotive electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to perform general service and make basic automotive repairs.
- Test and evaluate modifications and installations performed by you or others.
- Maintain a clean and organized work space.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance in accordance with ADA policy.
- Assist in the maintenance of the facility and equipment.
- Complete required paperwork and documentation that is required for each process.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge.
- Must own your own standard automotive mechanical tools.
- Experience with using power tools and equipment.
Basic knowledge preferred/required:
- General automotive repair. (required)
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems (preferred not required)
- Welding (preferred not required)
- 12V electrical systems (required)
Preferred Certifications:
- ASE automotive Certifications (not required)
