Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Body Shop Estimator to join our team. As a Body Shop Estimator, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate estimates for automotive repairs and ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
Damage Assessment:
- Inspect vehicles that have been involved in accidents to assess the extent of damage.
- Document all visible damage and take photographs for reference.
- Identify additional hidden damage that may affect the repair process.
Estimating Repair Costs:
- Utilize estimating software to calculate repair costs based on labor, parts, and materials required.
- Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates for customers and insurance companies.
- Explain the estimated costs and repair process to customers in a clear and understandable manner.
Customer Interaction:
- Greet customers and provide a professional and courteous experience.
- Discuss repair options and address customer concerns or questions.
- Keep customers informed throughout the repair process, providing updates on timelines and any changes to the estimate.
Collaboration:
- Coordinate with insurance adjusters to review estimates and negotiate repair costs.
- Communicate effectively with repair technicians to ensure they have all necessary information for the repair job.
- Work as part of a team to ensure efficient and high-quality repairs.
Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate records of all estimates, repair orders, and interactions with customers and insurance companies.
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing workflow in the repair shop.
- Inspect vehicles and assess the extent of damage
- Provide accurate estimates for repairs, including parts, labor, and timeframes
- Communicate with customers regarding the repair process and address any concerns or questions they may have
- Collaborate with technicians to ensure repairs are completed according to estimate and quality standards
- Maintain detailed records of all estimates, repairs, and customer interactions
- Upsell additional services or repairs as appropriate
- Coordinate with insurance companies for claims processing
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Collision Estimator or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair techniques, parts, and labor costs.
- Proficiency in using estimating software (e.g., Audatex, CCC ONE) to generate repair estimates.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to accurately assess vehicle damage.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of insurance procedures related to collision repairs is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in automotive repair is a plus.
