Bob Brown Chevrolet, headquartered in Urbandale, Iowa is in search of Skilled Service Technicians looking to become more than just a number. We are a third generation family, owned and operated. With more than 63 years in the automotive business, the Brown family prides ourselves on high employee retention, and an all around great place to work. With our redesigned an upgraded service department, featuring a Climate Controlled Shop, In-ground Lifts, and 20,000 pound lifts, we have the capability to work on medium duty trucks and RV's; we can service nearly all vehicle service types. We are looking for Service Technicians to join our growing team! The right candidates will have a strong service technician background and ASE certifications. The day-to-day duties include performing work on specific repair orders and diagnosing what repairs need to be done.

COMPENSATION
- Flat rate hourly compensation, based on experience, training, and proficiency.
- Participation, with dealer match, in the GM Tech Excellence Bonus Program. Potential of $12,000 annually and up to 250,000 GM rewards points valued at an additional $2,500.

Job Requirements
-
Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies.

Inspect and test-drive vehicles to ensure vehicles run smoothly and safely.

Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs

Communicate directly with Service Advisors and all necessary parties to ensure that customers receive exceptional service.

Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems and components.

Complete required factory and dealership training.

Install equipment as specified by the customer or company.

Assist and mentor junior technicians when needed.

Use shop supplies and materials in a practical and economic manner.

Maintain a professional and clean workspace.

Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardized the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or customers.

High school diploma or equivalent, ASE Certification required.

B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair.
Qualifications

2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred.

High school diploma or equivalent, ASE Certification required.

Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination.

Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.

Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies.

Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve.

Enjoy working in a dynamic environment.

Must have a strong worth ethic and be a team player.

Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications.

Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
