Seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Pharmacy Service Technician to provide critical technical support for automated medication dispensing systems in long-term care facilities throughout the San Jose/Burlingame area. This position offers a unique blend of pharmacy technology expertise and direct healthcare support, making a meaningful difference in patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site service and technical support for AlixaRX automated dispensing cabinets in nursing homes
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly to ensure uninterrupted medication access
- Perform regular maintenance and calibration of pharmacy automation equipment
- Maintain accurate documentation of all service activities and interventions
- Travel between multiple healthcare facilities within a 20-mile radius
- Collaborate with nursing staff and pharmacy team members to optimize medication delivery systems
- Respond to technical support requests in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with all relevant pharmacy regulations and protocols
Qualifications
Required:
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license
- Previous retail or long-term care pharmacy experience
- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Reliable transportation for travel between facilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with automated medication dispensing systems
- Knowledge of pharmacy software applications
- Understanding of medication safety protocols
