Vehicle Engineering Technician II
The Vehicle Engineering Technician II is primarily responsible for supporting all activities and work related to vehicle prototyping, preproduction development and maintaining a production level engineering fleet.
Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
- Read and understand product technical schematics and assembly instructions.
- Integrate and install early development components, necessary to create a functioning pre-production vehicle.
- Test and measure specific vehicle functions using engineering tools.
- Support vehicle commissioning and decommissioning as necessary.
- Document work related to testing and development.
- Complete assigned vehicle work orders on time without compromising quality.
- Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems.
- Maintain and repair corporate fleet.
- Maintain, upkeep of all tools and equipment.
- Liaising with Technical Supervisor to report any issues and make suggestions for further improvements.
- Ensuring that quality control standards are met.
- Adhering to strict assembly safety standards.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent
- ASE Masters certification preferred.
- High Voltage training certificate preferred.
Experience
- Extensive experience as an automotive or electronics technician (5+yrs).
- Moderate experience with working on Heavy duty vehicles.
- Practical experience with automotive powertrain systems preferred.
- Practical experience in high voltage drive systems preferred.
- Broad knowledge of all vehicle systems (including powertrain, chassis, electrical, thermal, exteriors, & interiors) & component materials & fasteners.
- Practical knowledge of vehicle networks (including CAN) & relative systems such as OBD II.
Tools and Equipment
- Proficient with hand and power tools.
- Ability to operate vehicle lifts.
- Ability to drive a Forklift.
- Ability to use a tire machine and wheel balancer as well as vehicle alignment machine.
Personal
- Must have a valid Driver’s license.

- Ability to stand for occasional periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or push/pull up to 60 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may spend 100% (excluding breaks and meal periods) of time in a workshop environment.

Compensation:
$36.50/per hour - $40.00/per hour. Compensation will vary DOE.
