Job Description:
As the Body Shop Estimator, JR, you will be responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience throughout the repair process for our customers. Your knowledge of body and mechanical work will be utilized to grow your career and the business at the DuPratt Ford Collision Center. Some body shop experience is required; we will provide further training to increase body shop, dealership, tow, and estimating knowledge.
- You will manage working relationships with customers, insurance companies, various departments, and fellow teammates while providing all components of administrative support for the Repair Facility and Towing Team.
- Writing preliminary & supplemental repair estimates.
- Blueprinting
- Keeps customers informed throughout the repair process.
- Answering all incoming phone calls and scheduling appointments for body shop estimators and tows for tow truck drivers.
- Assists with parts ordering and deliveries.
- Prepares RO's and orders parts for repairs you are managing.
- Records all communication with customers or insurance partners during the repair process using CCC One notes.
- Manages tow yard and various customers that have had their vehicle towed by CHP, Dixon PD, or AAA. This includes preparing tow tags and charges for all tow customers.
- Manages details for the sales department including new car details and Permaplates.
- Communicates with other departments for various business purposes.
- Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.
- The physical demands of your job include walking, lifting, kneeling, going under vehicles, and standing for long periods.
- Be a team player and willing to help grow the collision center and tow department business.
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Qualifications
- Automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge
- Experience in auto body repair and service writing
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of insurance
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and automotive repair
- Ability to estimate auto repair costs accurately
- Upselling and sales experience in an automotive setting
