The Sanitary Board of the City of Charleston, WV (CSB) is a municipal sewer utility serving Charleston and adjacent areas of Kanawha County, WV.

General Description

The Charleston Sanitary Board is seeking a Pump Mechanic in the Pump Division of its Collection Systems Department. This position reports to the Pump Division Superintendent and assists with repairing, rebuilding, troubleshooting problems and performing routine maintenance on CSB collection system sewage pumps and appurtenances and upkeep of pump station sites.

Essential Duties

Performing field work at various sewage pump stations throughout the CSB collection system. Assisting with repairing, rebuilding, troubleshooting problems and performing routine maintenance on CSB collection system sewage pumps and appurtenances. Upkeep of CSB pump station sites: Mowing, weed eating, painting and general cleaning
Must be able to work mandatory overtime, mandatory on-call, and respond to work outside the normal work shift.
Other duties as assigned or directed by CSB management personnel.

Education and Experience:

Must have a valid West Virginia driver's license
Mechanical aptitude
Basic Computer skills to maintain maintenance records
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Training/vocational classes in mechanics, HVAC, welding, electric or other trade a plus, but not necessary
