JOB DESCRIPTION

The Commercial Service Technician (Mechanic) / Emergency Vehicle Technicain services and repairs medium and heavy-duty gasoline and diesel-driven vehicles, trailers, and motorized equipment as assigned by management following all established standards and procedures. He or she must be skilled with air/hydraulic brakes, suspensions, engine transmissions, electronics, and accessories. In addition, he or she may be assigned to conduct pre-delivery service on new vehicles to ensure excellent working order for the customer. We deliver the highest quality service while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Diagnoses and repairs various truck systems using hand and electronic tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, diagnostic tools, laptop computers, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
Ensures that repairs are completed in a complete and accurate manner as per supervisor or work order instructions.
Maintains correct time punches and work order processes.
Maintains efficiency standards and attendance policy as required.
Tags all parts as required and follows all warranty procedures set for the by each OEM
Strong familiarity with aftertreatment systems
Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges
Keeps work area clean and free of debris.
Keeps customer vehicle clean during repair process and after repairs are complete.
Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED required
One-year certificate from a fully accredited college or technical school. An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
Minimum of two years related experience and/or training working on medium and heavy duty trucks
Basic understanding of Windows and Microsoft Office. Experience with CDK a plus.
ASE certifications preferred
Freightliner, Hino, Cummins, Detroit, Isuzu, and other manufacturer certifications
Professional set of tools
Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
CDL preferred
Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
