Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our automotive repair processes, particularly focusing on used vehicles and powertrain systems. This position requires a strong background in mechanical knowledge, customer service, and the effective use of power tools. Responsibilities

Conduct regular safety inspections of automotive repair areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks associated with automotive repair processes.
Collaborate with technicians to align safety practices with operational procedures, particularly for a variety of used vehicles and their powertrain systems.
Provide training and support to staff on safe use of power tools and equipment.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
Assist in the development of safety policies and procedures tailored to the dealership's needs.
Foster a culture of safety within the organization by promoting best practices among team members.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a dealership or automotive repair environment is preferred.
Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of GM vehicles and powertrain systems.
Familiarity with power tools and their safe operation.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both staff and customers.
Experience in auto estimating is a plus.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented atmosphere while maintaining attention to detail.
Certification or training in occupational health and safety is advantageous but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
