Heavy Duty Body Technician:

Don Brown Bus Sales is the East Coast leader in large-scale commercial vehicle remanufacturing, accident repair, and maintenance. Located in Johnstown, NY, DBBS has earned a reputation for delivering high-quality work on large and complex jobs for large public and private sector customers. We service and repair all types of buses, trucks, and heavy-duty vehicles.

We are looking to hire an experienced Heavy-Duty Body Technicians and candidates will need to be available to work four days a week, ten hours a day (set schedule). Overtime is available on a case-by-case basis. Employees are paid weekly and starting pay is based on experience. Benefits (Health, Vision, Dental) are available after 90 days of employment and along with retirement planning options.

Primary Responsibilities:

Independently performs painting and body repair work on vehicles at a highly specialized, skilled level; estimates extent of damage and repair costs;
Perform highly detailed inspections of body damage;
Prep and paint vehicle surfaces and parts with a variety of paints;
Fit and replace panels; repair body dents and scratches;
Weld with gas and arc equipment;
Maintain and repair flooring;
Fabricate new seat covering and repair and replace damaged seats, including belts and other seat attachments;
Replace damaged windows, mirrors, and other glass;
Maintain safe and organized work environment;
Operate all tools and equipment necessary to complete the tasks assigned;
Provide recommendations for tools and supplies that are needed for repairs;
Keep records of repair work, time, and materials as directed;
Perform other work as assigned or required.

Requirements:

2 Years experience in heavy- duty vehicle body repair;
At least 18 years of age;
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs;
Ability to accurately diagnose and repair a variety of body and interior damage without guidance;
Knowledge of body repair methods;
Skill in the use of welding equipment;
Skill in the use of painting, sanding, and buffing equipment;
Skill in the use of tools associated with body repair;
Ability to read, write, and perform basic math skills;
Ability to read, understand, and safely follow manuals;
Must possess a valid driver’s license; current CDL or ability to obtain one;
Must provide tools required to complete repairs.
Be subject to a drug test
Must be able to work four ten hour shifts per week (set schedule);
