Body Shop Manager Job Description

The Body Shop Manager is responsible for running an efficient and profitable Collision Repair and Vehicle Reconditioning Department at Big Valley. He/She will operate the department at maximum production while controlling costs. Responsible for building a loyal clientele, maintaining good employee relationships, safety training of all department employees, setting and obtaining sales and profit objectives, and maintaining collision repair records.

Duties and responsibilities:

Strive for harmony and teamwork with all other departments.

Set goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them.

Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with all federal, state and local regulations that affect collision repair and vehicle reconditioning operations.

Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all department staff.

Direct and schedule the activities of all department employees.

Provide technical assistance to employees as needed.

Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers in order to encourage repeat and referral business.

Serve as liaison with factory representatives.

Insure all customers are greeted promptly and given fair estimates on costs and time required for repairs.

Handle all collision repair customer complaints.

Quality check all completed jobs.

Account for all documents; ensure that none are missing and all are filed properly.

Maintain reporting systems required by management and the factory.

Monitor the location and care of shop tools.

Responsible for maintenance of all body shop and recon shop equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
