The Equipment Mechanic position is responsible for maintaining MOT equipment trailers by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting equipment deficiencies; making adjustments and repairs; keeping records. The position is accountable for the tasks of troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining MOT trailered equipment to support daily work activities while maintaining safety objectives and company processes.

Ability to work on small equipment Trailers
Able to determine equipment condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; and general maintenance of trailers.
Corrects equipment deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components.
Verifies equipment performance by conducting tests; adjusting controls and systems.
Maintains equipment appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
Maintain equipment records by annotating services and repairs.
Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. evaluating service and parts options.
Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
Trailer mechanical repair experience a plus
Electrical and welding experience a plus
2-4 years of preventative maintenance of trailers a plus
Battery charging and testing experience a plus
