```Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our team. We are Art's Automotive, a Japanese dealer alternative in Berkeley, Ca. We perform routine vehicle maintenance to more advanced diagnostic work dealing with networks, programming, automotive locksmithing, air conditioning , high voltage battery maintenance, ADAS adjusting and all manner of undercar work.

We have been in business 44 years , own some of the best equipment, all the necessary scan tools, subscriptions to Alldata, Identifix and Motologic. Our CEO owns the four properties we operate out of, have been voted Best Auto Shop in the East Bay for 27 years. This shop isnt going anywhere or having condos built on its land. We are known for any advanced vehicle made by Toyota, Honda, Mazda and Subaru . We are known for hybrids and the Japanese EV's that are out there and being the place to go for answers, other shops send us referrals. We operate with a strong moral compass. Our staff of 14 include 8 technicians with very rare turnover, their years on the job are 3 to 39 years. This group is like a family, very supportive and friendly.

Ideally, you might have a certificate from an automotive program or AS degree, ASE certification but if not, that isnt a deal breaker, we are open to discussion for the right fit. Our need for a skilled technician means you would have an adequate tool set. We carry tool insurance and this shop has three layers of security. We do almost everything so there's room to adjust your assignments to your strengths , however, we would like someone capable of continuing to learn and improve. You should be grounded in the basics but want to be a true master in all areas eventually. Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions is a must and a valid drivers license with clean driving record. Any skill level will be considered , your work ethic and personality are critical.

Compensation will reflect your skill and efficiency. We will pay you what you are worth and your rate will increase as your value increases. The pay range mentioned above is competitive because it costs more to live within commuting distance to this job. We pay for training and value continuing education. We also offer medical, dental and matching Simple IRA retirement contributions. Each technican has a laptop and landline at their benches. Uniforms, etc are provided. On Fridays we provide a very nice lunch and discuss issues that come up and listen to feedback from staff. Your voice would be heard. Soft drinks and snacks are provided throughtout the week. .
