Job Title: Automotive Mechanic

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in automotive electrical systems and welding and possess mechanical knowledge. As an Automotive Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring the vehicles' systems are in optimal condition to give the customer base top-of-the-line service.

Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on vehicles according to manufacturer standards
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Conduct inspections to identify worn or damaged parts
- Welding experience is helpful
- Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient workflow
- Customer service: explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly, as well as vocalizing costs
- Test drive vehicles to verify repairs

Requirements:
- experience as an Automotive Mechanic or Mechanical Engineering degree
- Proficiency in automotive systems and mechanical repairs
- Familiarity with vehicles and engines
- Ability to read and interpret schematics
- Customer service skills (you will work with customers face to face, over the phone, work with parts houses, etc.)
- Certification from a technical school or equivalent experience

About the Business:

Wayne's Auto Service is a second-generation Mechanic Shop located in Watertown, WI. The shop owner, Jeff Kohlhoff, has been fixing cars since a young age and is hiring a second mechanic to fill the second bay in the shop and keep a steady flow of cars coming through. This shop services many different vehicles on a weekly basis and is generally open from 7 am to 12 pm, off for a lunch hour, and then from 1 pm to 5:30 pm.
