Job Summary:

The Transmission Disassembler is responsible for disassembling and inspecting vehicle transmissions to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to follow safety protocols strictly.

Hours: 8:00AM - 5:00PM

Salary: $18- $20 Per Hour 

Key Responsibilities:

Disassembly:
Carefully dismantle vehicle transmissions, ensuring all parts are handled with care to avoid damage.
Use appropriate tools and techniques to disassemble components accurately.
Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate efficient workflow.
Inspection:
Inspect and identify worn, damaged, or defective parts within the transmission system.
Document findings accurately and report to the lead mechanic or workshop supervisor.
Assist in diagnosing issues based on the condition of the disassembled parts.
Documentation:
Record all disassembled parts, noting their condition and any potential issues.
Complete detailed inspection reports for each transmission disassembled.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Follow environmental regulations and proper disposal procedures for hazardous materials.
Maintenance:
Maintain and calibrate disassembly tools and equipment regularly.
Keep workbench and tools clean and in good working order.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification in automotive technology or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive repair, preferably with a focus on transmissions.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with transmission systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy components (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.
Willingness to work in a garage/shop environment, potentially involving exposure to oil, grease, and other substances.

Work Environment:

The role is based in a workshop or garage setting, requiring prolonged periods of standing, bending, and working with hands.
