HIRING RANGE: $23.42 – $26.01 per hour based on experience.
Pay Grade: 09

Job Summary

Service, maintain and repair college vehicles. Respond to emergency snow removal situations on a 24 hour basis. Move furniture for staff and faculty as required.

Prior to starting employment, all persons are required to have a post offer, pre-employment drug screen and physical verifying the physical ability to perform the duties described.

Essential Functions

Perform daily safety inspections and preventative maintenance on 90 college vehicles. Coordinate major repairs of vehicles with local service centers. Keep monthly service and mileage reports on the computer.

Perform all phases of grounds keeping work. Operate a wide variety of equipment, some large and heavy equipment requiring special training.

Assign work to non-regular staff.

Perform snow removal. Respond to emergency snow removal situations on a 24 hour basis. Make preventative and emergency repairs to vehicles and equipment used for snow removal.

Move equipment and furniture for staff and faculty.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School graduate.
Two years of automotive or related mechanical experience. (Completion of a 1 year automotive or related vocational training program may substitute for 1 year of the required experience; Associate’s Degree in Automotive Technology or related field may substitute required two years of experience.)
Ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety of mechanical problems.
Ability to obtain a Class B commercial driver’s license within 6 weeks of employment and possession of a satisfactory driving record.
Ability to move 75 lbs. and safely and properly move a wide variety of equipment and supplies.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with a wide variety of individuals coming from diverse backgrounds.

Completion of an automotive or related vocational training program.
